Nanofillers are used more and more in the rubber industry to obtain special effects that cannot be obtained with the aim of classical fillers (carbon black or silica). This know how webinar is considering the multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) to show the potential of them to improving the performance of the filled rubber. The production and characterization of the nanofiller and the special properties resulting from it are presented in order to understand the resulting consequences on the rubber. The lecture presents the compounding properties of nanofillers and the physical properties of the filled rubbers (hardness, compression set, stress-strain behavior) and dynamic properties. Special application is the use of Multiwalled Carbon Nanotubes in combination with traditional fillers to improve the performance of the rubber. The dual filler approaches have the most important input on reinforcement of rubber.
