Dr. Abdul Salam is currently serving as Head of Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Change and Associate Professor of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency at Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Bangkok, Thailand. Dr. Salam has around 25 years of international experience in research, consultancy and capacity building in the areas of bioenergy (biomass, biofuel, biogas), waste to energy, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and climate change mitigation. He has published more than 100 internationally refereed journal articles, conference papers, and books, and presented his research findings in more than 40 countries. He also has three years of working experience as the General Manager and Chief Design Engineer of an energy service company. He has obtained Master of Engineering (1994) and Doctor of Engineering (2005) in Renewable Energy and Energy Technology, respectively, from AIT. Dr. Salam also received the Thailand Frontier Researcher Award for 2016 in Engineering, in recognition of pioneering a new frontier research, by Thomson Reuters and Office of Higher Education Commission of Thailand.

Dr. Anthony Wong obtained his B.Tech (Hons) and Ph.D degrees in Chemical Engineering from University of Bradford, U.K.. Prior to taking up his academic duties at The University of Hong Kong, he was with BASF and Exxon Chemical as the technical support to their sales team of their plastics department for the Asia Pacific region. In his 20 years of employment at The University of Hong Kong, he taught at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and was also actively engaged in carrying out research work in plastics technology. Main areas of his research focuses include extrusion technology, polymer rheology, powder technology, and environmental engineering. In 2003, he joined NHH Co. Ltd. (a color compounder listed in Hong Kong) as its Vice Chairman and Director, responsible for the company’s technology and market development. He left NHH in April 2019 and is now the Asia Pacific market coordinator for Badger Color Concentrates, Inc., a US based color compounder.

Furthermore, he has vast experience in developing and execution of various waste to energy projects in Thailand which is one of the most attractive places in renewable energy project development in South East Asia. He is currently the Managing Director of Papop Co., Ltd. which is a leading biogas technology provider in Thailand.

Dr. C. Visvanathan, is a Professor of the Environmental Engineering and Management Program, School of Environment, Resources and Development, Asian Institute of Technology. He has a Ph.D. (Chemical /Environmental Engineering) from Institute National Polytechnique, Toulouse, France. His main areas of research interests include: Membrane technologies for water and wastewater treatment, Cleaner production and solid waste disposal and management. In the field of solid waste, his main research interests focus around waste recycling and reuse, landfill pre-treatment technologies, plus anaerobic digestion of food waste. He has published more than 150 international journal papers. He has more than 30 years of experiences teaching environmental engineering and management related courses at graduate level at AIT. His professional experiences include: Project Engineer, Asia Division, International Training Center for Water Resources Management, Sophia Antipolis, France, and short term consultant to UNEP Industry and Environment Office, Paris, France. He finished his career as a corporate scientist and is recently retired and has started a consulting and teaching company. Mr. Henri G. Burhin is retired from Alpha Technologies (former Monsanto Instrument and Equipment). His career in Monsanto, Flexsys and Alpha Technologies was 39 years long. At Monsanto/Alpha Technologies/Dynisco, he supported the sale organisation of modern rubber testing instrument with special emphasis on rheological tools. He also participated in the latest development on the RPA2000 instrument towards higher productivity, sensitivity, accuracy and novelty. He acquired a wide experienced in non-linear viscoelasticity, also quoted as “FT-Rheology” or LAOS. He has been working in close collaboration with the UCL (Université Catholique de Louvain) Belgium in the polymer department. As leader of Virginia Tech's FutureHAUS project, Wheeler has spent over a decade helping student researchers and industry, government, and academic partners explore solutions to the world's global housing challenges. Through FutureHAUS, Wheeler guides students in applied research that also engages industry partners in how to make homes more smart, efficient, affordable, and sustainable to meet the needs of the world's diverse, fast-growing population. His areas of expertise include smart home technology; the use of modular and industrialized processes in homebuilding; energy efficiency and green innovation in homebuilding; housing accessibility for diverse age groups and aging populations; and the engineering of "flex spaces" for smaller homes that still deliver on occupants' needs. Wheeler's teaching and research has long focused on the areas of environmental and sustainable design. He has lead Virginia Tech's interdisciplinary Solar Decathlon projects in 2005, 2009 and 2010 and 2018 to build the world's best solar home. Professor Dr. Kinsuk Naskar received his Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Polymer Science and Technology in 1998 from the University of Calcutta. In early 2000, he completed his M.Tech in Rubber Technology from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur (Silver Medalist). In April 2000, he joined the University of Twente, The Netherlands as a Ph.D. employee under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jacques Noordermeer in a project funded by Dutch Polymer Institute (DPI). He received his Ph.D. degree in June 2004. Since August 2004, he joined Rubber Technology Centre, IIT Kharagpur as a Faculty member. Currently he is holding the position of a full Professor. In 2005 he received DPI Patent Award from The Netherlands for his invention. In 2008 he received prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship from Germany and worked in the group of Prof. Dr. Gert Heinrich. In 2016 he received as the first Indian the prestigious Morand Lambla Award in Lyon, France from International Polymer Processing Society (PPS). His fields of interests are: Structure-property relationship of various polymers and synthetic rubbers, rubber compounding and vulcanization, polymer blends and thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs and TPVs), radiation processing and cross-linking, green tyre technology, shape memory polymers, Self healing polymers, thermo-reversible crosslinking etc. He has more than 120 international journal papers, 85 conference papers, 6 patents and 15 book/book chapters. He has started his career as apprentice in 1956 and worked for 32 years and reached the position of Deputy Managing Director at Fenner India, which Involved in developing and manufacturing Wrapped V Belts, Raw Edge V Belts, Textile Cots and Aprons, Oil Seals, O-rings etc. In 1985, he established Hi-Tech Arai, which is one of the leading automotive OEM rubber parts suppliers in India. Mr. M. A Naqi is Principal consultant and President of LinQ Tech Inc. based in Canada. A graduate in Science I started my career as ‘Production Manager ‘on a continuous Foaming machine at Poly Products LLC (Oman) between 1980 -2001 while directing the company from infancy to market leader in special foams, eventually became CTO in the company. During this period added a molded foam line as well as a rebonded foam line. I have developed formulations for all kinds of special foams, including soft and super soft grades with standard polyol, a unique pre-polymer dispensing system for rebonded foam which preludes cleaning of the pump and pouring tube. Started my own consultation company in 2001 assisting producers in Canada, Middle East and Asia, teaching foam production, adjusting formulations and talking at various shows and been involved in the industry for over 35 years.

Mark Dadmun received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and a Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts working with Prof. M. Muthukumar in Polymer Science and Engineering. He subsequently was awarded a National Research Council Post-doctoral Fellowship, which was completed at the National Institute of Standards and Technology working with Dr. Charles Han. Prof. Dadmun then joined the faculty of the Chemistry Department at the University of Tennessee, where he is now a Full Professor. His current appointments include Joint Faculty at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in the Chemical Science Division and Founding Director of the Soft Materials Research in Tennessee (SMART) Center.

Dr. Wilf has been involved in process development, system design, project execution, plant operation and maintenance of large, commercial desalination and wastewater reclamation plants in US, Europe and Middle East since 1977. Dr. Wilf has been involved in development of new desalination process and optimization of membrane technologies. Some of his inventions have resulted in patent applications and are being used in commercial desalination systems. Dr. Wilf is a regular contributor to professional journals, wrote chapters on membrane technology processes and applications to a number of books. He edited and wrote with other coauthors The Guidebook to Membrane Desalination Technology that has been published in 2006. The second book on membrane technology that he edited and contributed, The Guidebook to Membrane Technology for Wastewater Reclamation, has been published in 2010. Dr. Wilf regularly presents and teaches desalination and membrane technology subjects to engineers and water professionals. His teaching activity includes teaching course on membrane technology and desalination for European Desalination Society, and other courses for industrial companies and engineering organizations.

Tim received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Virginia Tech under the direction of Prof. James McGrath, and he subsequently joined both Eastman Kodak and Eastman Chemical companies for eight years upon graduation. He joined the faculty in the Department of Chemistry at Virginia Tech in 1999,where he also served as the Director of the Macromolecules Innovation Institute. Prof. Long joined the faculty of the School of Molecular Sciences at Arizona State University (ASU) in summer 2020 where he will launch and lead the Biodesign Center for Sustainable Macromolecular Materials and Manufacturing (BCSM3). In addition to over 400 peer-reviewed publications, his research awards include the 2020 Virginia Outstanding Faculty Award, 2015 Virginia Scientist of the Year, 2010 Virginia Tech Alumni Research Award, ACS PMSE Collaborative Research Award, Dalquist Award from the Adhesion Society, 2019 ACS Rubber Division Thermoplastic Elastomer Award, and the ACS POLY Mark Scholar Award. He has served as the Chair of the ACS Division of Polymer Chemistry, Chair of the Gordon Research Conference in Polymers, 2012 Chair of the IUPAC World Polymer Congress, and he currently serves as the Past-President of the Adhesion Society. He is a member of advisory boards for leading journals, and he was recently appointed as Editor-in-Chief of Wiley Polymer International. His research interests span structure-property-processing relationships for polymers with a focus on multiphase systems including ion-containing and hydrogen bonding containing block copolymers, biomaterials and hydrogels, sustainable polymers and processes, renewable feed stocks, and green chemistry. New monomer syntheses and polymerization processes have led to novel families of thermoplastic elastomers including controlled radical polymerization, living anionic polymerization, and the formation of segmented step-growth polymerization processes with a focus on polyurethanes and polyesters. His most recent research efforts address the need for tailored advanced macromolecules for advanced manufacturing (3D printing), including vat photopolymerization, direct-ink-write printing, selective laser sintering, powder bed fusion, and extrusion. This research has led to new families of engineering polymers, photo-reactive polymers, tissue scaffolds, and enzyme delivery systems. He has published in the area of drug/gene delivery and most recently focused on hydrogels for brachytherapy in oncology. This interdisciplinary research program has garnered approximately $50M in research funding from federal (NSF, NIH, DOE, PRF, and DOD) agencies and diverse international corporate sponsors.
